A Bit About Me

Monique Nelson is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a rich background in education and school-based mental health. Her early career as a classroom teacher and later roles within school settings shaped her practical, strengths-based approach to supporting children, families, and educators. Monique brings decades of experience in individual, couple, and family therapy, with a particular emphasis on family systems, co-parenting, and facilitating support groups.

As a clinician, Monique combines evidence-based interventions with a warm, relational style. She specializes in helping families navigate transitions, improve communication, and rebuild trust after conflict or separation. She leads structured support groups for parents and caregivers, creating safe, solution-focused spaces where members learn practical skills, share experiences, and build community.

Monique is also a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith as a lover of Jesus is central to her life and informs her compassionate, hope-centered work with clients who wish to integrate spiritual values into healing and growth. She values cultural humility, collaborative care, and partnering with schools and community resources to support each family’s unique strengths and goals.

Monique holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and maintains active licensure and ongoing professional training. She is committed to empowering families to create healthier patterns, stronger relationships and more resilient futures for generations to come.
